The purpose of this blog is to document my individual explorations of cultural constructions of gender and the implications of those constructions. In addition to this I will be investigating how gender is constructed in the Hebrew Bible and what affect this has on my experience, community, and culture. All of these explorations and investigations are in conjuncture with my Gender and Hebrew Bible class.

Will I Be Pretty?
I am in love with this awesome spoken word by Katie Makkai. She speaks of the negative effects of teaching girls that they should desire to grow up and be pretty.
